APC chieftain, Rasheed Badmus, congratulates Akeredolu over S/Court’s verdict

…says court judgement represents people’s will

The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development during the first term of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Alhaji Rasheed Badmus, has described the Supreme Court judgement which affirmed the victory of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the October 10, 2020 governorship election, as an act of God and a justification of the people’s mandate.
Badmus who specially gave glory to God Almighty and congratulated Governor Akeredolu and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for the Supreme Court victory, also described the Governor as an uncommon man who has always enjoyed uncommon grace of God in his determination to develop the state and protect the interest of the people.
The Apex Court had last week Wednesday upheld the victory of Governor Akeredolu at the October 10, 2020 governorship election and dismissed the appeal filed by the PDP candidate, Eyitayo Jegede and his party.
Reacting to the judgement, Rasheed Badmus explained that the verdict has given people more confidence in the judiciary, even as he described the judgement as a victory for the people of the state
The APC chieftain noted that Governor Akeredolu’s sincerity, his fear of God and unwavering commitment to the service of the people made God help him to win the case and be victorious at the Supreme Court.
The immediate past Commissioner who equally appreciated all the APC leaders and the people of the state for standing firm by the Governor throughout the litigation period, also expressed joy that the ongoing developmental projects across the state under Governor Akeredolu are not truncated halfway.
Badmus applauded the Governor for working hard and serving the people well, adding that within the past four years and the first 100 days of the second term, so many developmental projects in terms of roads construction, industrialisation, water supply scheme, agric development, youth empowerment and overall development of the state have been given serious attention by the Governor.
While noting that Akeredolu is focused and determined to ensure his regime is remembered for good in all aspects of the economy, the APC chieftains also appreciated the PDP candidate, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede for congratulating Akeredolu on his victory, adding that he should also be ready to join hands and work with the Governor to collectively build, refine and develop the state.
“The main thing now is to appreciate God for Mr Governor, to appreciate God for APC and to appreciate God for Ondo state because the good works will continue”, he stressed.

The Managing Director, Medaville Building & Construction Co. Ltd, Otunba Ademola Akin-Benson, has congratulated the Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, over their victory at the Supreme Court.
It would be recalled that the Apex Court had on Wednesday last week affirmed the election of the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the October 10, 2020 governorship election.
Reacting to what he described as landmark judgement on Monday, the seasoned Estate Developer congratulated the Governor and his deputy for their victory, saying it would spur the Governor to do more for the development of the state and the people.
Otunba Akin-Benson, noted that the Supreme Court verdict has further justified the people’s mandate freely given to the Governor and his deputy at the last October governorship polls.

He specifically commended the Governor for his aggressive infrastructural development across the three senatorial districts of the state, adding with the Supreme Court judgement more people-oriented programmes and projects would be executed by Governor.
The seasoned Estate Developer called on the people of the state to continue to support the present administration for more development.

We’ll win big for Gov Akeredolu in Akoko- Badmus

One of the APC leaders in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo state and Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Alhaji Rasheed Badmus, has assured that the local government is fully ready to win big for the APC in the Saturday’s governorship election.

He further called on the people of Akoko land to troop out this Saturday and deliver block votes for the candidate of the APC and incumbent Governor of the state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

The commissioner expressed confidence that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would win the October 10, 2020 governorship election by a wide margin, going by his unprecedented achievements in the past three and a half years.
He urged all the four local governments in Akoko land to be part of the victory of the Governor so that the good works could continue in the area and the entire state.

Badmus explained that, a vote for Governor Akeredolu is a vote for continuity of good governance and consolidation of sustainable socio-economic development of the state.

He urged Akoko sons and daughters to come together as one and vote massively for Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who he said has done a lot to transform Akoko land which had hitherto been neglected by the past administration.

The Afin-Akoko born indigene explained that all the leaders of the party have moved round the local government campaigning for the second term re-election of the Governor to ensure landslide victory.

He appreciated the people for the warm reception given to the party leaders and other members of the campaign committee in the local government, saying the rousing welcome that greeted the campaign rally has further demonstrated people’s love for the governor.

The commissioner used the occasion to applaud Governor Akeredolu for the aggressive infrastructural drives leading to the construction of many roads including the notorious Okealabojuto dual carriage way, the dreaded Oke-Oka road, Ikare-Akoko township road, Ore Redemption Bridge, Ore Industrial Hub, renovation of schools, building of hospitals, water projects among several other projects, noting that the landmark achievements of the Governor would make the people re-elect him for another term.

He described Governor Akeredolu as a reliable, trustworthy and dependable leader who has continuously fulfilled promises to the people of the state, which is why the Governor is being referred to as ‘Talk and Do’

Speaking on the mammoth crowd that attended the final rally of the APC held at the Akure City stadium, Badmus stressed that the large turn out of people was a sign of victory for the Governor and the APC.

AAUA matriculates 5,046 new students

The Acting Vice Chancellor, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has reiterated the extant law of the University that only students found worthy in learning and character would be conferred with the degree of the Institution.

He made the reaffirmation during the 2019/2020 matriculation ceremony of the Institution. 5,046 new students were matriculated at the well attended ceremony.

Prof. Ige who described the new in-take as lucky few, having been admitted at a time when the institution was being repositioned for greater effectiveness, congratulated them on their admission.

He said out 16,139 candidates who applied to study in AAUA, only 5,046 secured admission to the University.

Prof. Ige said the University was proud of its merit-driven admission policy, adding that the institution, right from its inception, was designed to produce graduates imbued with the values identifiable with the best educational tradition of a modern University.

“Our University is strictly governed by standard norms and values, and the university will not tolerate any antisocial behavior and character that may contravene or contradict the laid down rules and regulations.

“Incidents of cultism, rape, examination misconduct, indecent dressing, sexual harassment and the likes will not be tolerated. Anyone caught in these misconducts, stands the risk of losing his/her studentship”, he said.

The Acting VC, who was obviously proud of the recent feat of the institution said, “I am sure you are aware that this University was recently rated the Best among state Universities in the country, number Nine (9) Best in Nigeria, and number 81 on the continent.

”These are some of the achievements we are very proud of. He enjoined the matriculating students to join the enviable rank of AAUA distinguished, competent and confident graduates who have made the University proud.

While shedding more light on some of the major Students Support Services offered by the University, Pof. Ige said, “The University in a bid to financially assist our indigent students has recently resuscitated the Students Work-Study Scheme and approved the employment of 200 indigent students into the scheme in addition to various scholarship schemes available for our students. All interested students should visit the Students Affairs Division for details.”

Prof Ige, who admonished them to do everything possible to adhere to the ideals of excellence and integrity enshrined in their oath, advised them to pay their prescribed fees and complete their registration processes as stipulated by the University Authority, using the appropriate platforms.

The matriculation oath was administered on the students by the Ag Registrar, Mr. Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa.

The Ceremony was attended by all the Principal Officers of the University, the Deans of Faculty, staff, members of the University community and parents and guardians of the matriculating students.

Millennium College’s graduates inducted in Akure

Graduates of Dispensing Opticianry and that of Pharmacy Technician of the Millennium College of Health Technology, Aaye, Akure, have been advised to always uphold the tenets of their noble chosen professions and be ready to serve humanity.

The Provost of the College, Mrs Ayodele Adinlewa gave the advice at separate inductions/professional oath taking organised for the fresh National Diploma (ND) graduates by their different professional bodies.

The inductees are of the 2018/2019 academic session.

Mrs Adinlewa specifically encouraged the inductees to bring their training into bear in their future endeavours, and also remember their Alma-mata and contribute their quotas to the development of the College.

She congratulated the graduands for the success in their chosen professions, just as she urged them not to rest in their oars until they become the best they can be in future.

According to her, the College would continue to train qualified health care professionals that would be job providers rather than job seekers.

“As the Provost of this institution, I have always envisioned a college of health education that is first among equals, most preferred, making significant contributions to the society, self reliant and a force to reckon with among colleges globally; a truly 21st century college of health by the end of my tenure and I challenge you as graduands of this great institution to go on with this drive and be the best in your chosen professions,” the Provost said.

Earlier, while inducting the Dispensing Opticians into the professional body, the Registrar/CEO, Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria, Professor Ebele Bridget, commended the management and staff of the College for providing good training ground for the students, urging them to always aspire for the best.

The Registrar who also advised the inductees to uphold their professional ethics, described Dispensing Opticianry as very important to human life hence they must not fail their clients.

She advised them not to be complacent with the ND certificates but be ready to acquire more in the near future so that they can be the best they wanted to be.

Also, the Registrar, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria represented by the Deputy Director, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, Pharm. (Mrs) Ogunlola Adenike, advised the graduating pharmacy technicians to live above board and always work to save lives.

Earlier, the HOD, Pharmacy Technician, Millennium College of Health Technology, Dr. Pharm (Dr) Adesanya Olamide, who expressed joy that all the 36 students presented for the National examination conducted by Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria were successful, also stressed that the graduands have been well trained in character and learning.

The separate induction ceremonies conducted by the heads of the two professional bodies were attended by top management and staff of the College.

Highlights of the ceremonies were presentation of professional certificates and guidelines, professional oath taking, awards and cash presentation.

Gov Akeredolu lauds Millennium College of Health Technology @ 10th

Ondo state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has commended Millennium College of Health Technology, Aaye, Oda Road, Akure, for the tremendous progress it has made in the training of middle level health professionals within the relatively short period of its establishment.

He encouraged the management and staff of the College not to relent in their commitment to produce globally competitive health professionals needed for the development of the sector in the state and beyond.

The governor who gave the commendation at the 2nd combined convocation ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the College, held at the College main auditorium, Aaye, Oda Road, Akure, also urged the College to sustain the outstanding achievements.

The College, at the special ceremony, conferred on governor Akeredolu an Excellence Award for his sustainable health policies and programmes, which the institution noted are imparting positively on the lives of the people of the state.

Receiving the award, the governor represented by the Head, Standard and Quality Assurance, Ondo State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Toyin Adeyalo-Ogundare, who appreciated the College for the award, also reassured the people of the state that his administration would not relent in its commitment to until every resident of the state is captured under the State Contributory Health Insurance.

Earlier, presenting the award to the governor on behalf of the institution, the Chairman, College Governing Council, Mrs Caroline Ogunbadenusi, said the lofty health policies and programmes of Akeredolu-led administration have not only made qualitative healthcare services affordable but also more accessible to the people of the state.

She specifically applauded the governor for his free medical services for pregnant women and children of 0-5 years, recruitment of more health personnel, establishment of more health facilities and upgrading of the existing ones, among others.

The Governing Council Chairman stressed that the College would not rest on its oars until it becomes the best private health institution in Nigeria, adding that in the quest to ensure a 21st century complaint training, the College provides state-of-the-art digital training equipment and facilities, e-library, modern laboratory, ICT centre, hostel accommodation and highly professional/experienced lecturers, all of global standard.

She explained that the College has also concluded affiliation with some Nigerian and foreign Universities for degree programmes to provide a veritable platform for graduates to pursue Bachelor /Master degrees and enable them climb to the pinnacle of their respective careers, right from the College.

“Within the short stint of its establishment, the College has been able to create veritable opportunities for our teeming youths in this clime to have access to world class training middle health professionals. The fact that the has been recording not less than 95% in the final qualifying professional examinations in all the departments coupled with our students’ impeccable and moral disposition is an eloquent testimony that we are marching forward,” Ogunbadenusi emphasised.

The Provost of the College, Mrs. Ayodele Adinlewa, revealed that all the programmes of the institution including the Higher National Diploma (HND) have been fully accredited by the relevant Federal Government Regulatory Bodies/Council, saying that the school is fully committed to theoretical, practical training and entrepreneurship skill development.

While congratulating the graduating students on their successes, the Provost also encouraged them not to relent in their efforts at achieving more successes in future, just as she advised them to always remember their Alma-mata.

Millennium College of Health Technology commenced operations at a temporary site in 2009 before relocating to its current 12-hectare permanent site in 2012, with a vision of producing quality skilful and self-reliant middle level health personnel who are capable of making modest contributions to national health development.

Highlights of the ceremony were goodwill messages from other sister institutions, conferment of awards to other personalities, presentation of prizes to the Overall Best graduating students for various sessions, cutting of anniversary cake and cultural display.

A three-set comprising 2016/2017, 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 academic sessions were convoked at the ceremony.

NBTE approves HND courses for Millennium College of Health Technology …as College gets new principal officers

The National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, has accredited two additional programmes for Millennium College of Health Technology, Aaye, Akure, to be run at Higher National Diploma (HND) level with effect from 2019/2020 academic session.

The programmes are; HND Environmental Health Technology and HND Health Information Management.The accreditation followed the Resources Inspection carried out by the NBTE team during their visit to the college earlier in September this year.

To this end, HND graduates of the institution will now take part in the one year mandatory NYSC programme.

Briefing journalists on the development in Akure, the Ondo state capital, the Chairman, Governing Council of the College, Mrs. Ogunbadenusi Caroline, appreciated God almighty and the NBTE for the successful accreditation, saying that the college would not relent in its efforts at producing globally competitive health professionals.

She described the new accreditation and the inclusion of HND graduates of the institution into the NYSC programme as another laudable feat the college has achieved in the recent times.

“Millennium College of Health Technology, Aaye, Akure, is making appreciable progress day by day in the area of training proficient health professionals. We have competent and experienced staff with adequate and modern facilities to train our students in a conducive learning environment.

“The journey has not been easy but by the special grace of God the college is at the level it is today, and it is still moving on. Our aim is to make the institution the best private college of health technology in the country,” Mrs. Caroline added.

She equally announced the appointments of Mrs. Ayo Adinlewa as new Provost of the College; Mr. Samuel Awoniyi, as Registrar and Mrs. Alice Dupe-Balogun as Bursar. All the appointments take effect from December 1, 2019.

The College also announced supplementary admissions for intending and qualified candidates into various programmes in the institution such as Biomedical Equipment Technician, Community Health Extension Workers, Junior Community Health Extension Workers, Dental Therapy, Dental Health Technician, Dispensing Opticianry, Environmental Health Technology and Environmental Health Technician.

Other courses are; Health Information Management, Health Information Technician, Image Processing Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician and Pharmacy Technician.

Why people gave Gov Akeredolu rousing welcome – ODHA Speaker

Ondo State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun, has described the rousing welcome given to the state governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu by the people of the state on his arrival to the state as evidence of love and support the people have for the governor.

Oleyelogun attributed the wide jubilation that greeted Akeredolu’s arrival to the state after some weeks of working leave in Abuja to unshakable confidence the people have in him, describing governor Akeredolu as a man of high integrity who is committed to the socio-economic transformation of the state.

The Speaker who led other lawmakers in the Assembly to welcome the governor on Friday at the Akure Airport said everybody was happy and in high spirits to see the governor come back, refreshed with full vigour to continue his good works in the state to further positively impact the lives of the citizenry.

Akeredolu on his arrival at the Airport was received, amidst pomp and Pageantry, by the State Executive Council of the APC led by the Chairman, Mr Ade Adetimehin, members of the Ondo State Executive Council led by the deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi and the jubilant people of the state. The traditional rulers in the state were led by the Chairman, Council of Obas, Oba Frederick Akinruntan, the Olugbo of Ugbo kingdom.

The Speaker explained that the governor has done so much in the state in terms of regular payment of salaries, infrastructural development, improved health facilities, youth empowerment and so many other positive and life-transforming projects across the state.

” We were with him in Abuja and we saw what he was doing to develop our dear state. Everybody wants all the good works to continue.

“The governor has been performing his duties even when he was away in Abuja, and now he is back he would continue his good works for the people of the state.

“We want to assure the good people of the state that we the legislators are ready to give him necessary support and work with him to take the state to the next level of greatness.

“Look at the issue of our autonomy. Arakunrin Akeredolu is the first governor in the whole country to set up a committee to look into this, and by the time the committee submits its report I trust him he would be the first governor to approve the autonomy,” the Speaker added.

He appreciated God in the life of the governor and commended him for his passion and commitment to the development of the state, just as he solicited for more support from the people to enable him do more for the people.
